Castlemore Rumoured to be Selling off Leasehold of 40 Holborn Viaduct

40 Holborn Viaduct is in a limbo even though it is a highly marketable property. The 178,000 square feet property is owned by Crown Estate but has been leased to Castlemore Securities until 2052.

According to Companies House, this commercial property within the central London business district was leased to Castlemore by De Beers diamond Company in 2005. In addition, in September of the same year Castlemore, under the guidance of Grahame Whateley, and with a credit line from the Royal Bank of Scotland invested £74.5m in this project. However, the total worth of the property has now been predicted to be nearly £60m.

According to market reports, some investors have been contacted to purchase the property, but Grahame Whateley strongly denies this saying that they have no plans to sell it just yet. It is believed that Delancey and AEW Europe have already been met with and given a brief about the prospects of an investment.

40 Holborn Viaduct has already been partly leased to Irwin Mitchell law firm and the Pret a Manger sandwich chain. Even as Castlemore vehemently denies any plans to sell, they are said to be in talks with Gaz de France for a lease, as the property is mostly vacant - for info on office space to let, click London rent a desk.
