When Did You Previously Review Your Isa’s?
With the market meltdown earlier in the year and the threat of continued global recession still causing issues for investors, it might not seem to be the best time to review your Stocks and Shares ISA’s or investments.
Nevertheless, in some respects this might be the ideal time to carry out a review. History has indicated that a large number of savers buy investments at the top of the market and tend to dispose at the lowest point. In reality, investors should be purchasing at the lowest point and hopefully trading at the peak of a market. It is true, though the stock market has recovered considerably since 03/09 however, it could be argued that investors should now be deliberating the investment opportunities that are open to them.
If you have a collection of Individual Savings Account investments with various investment managers it could be worth going over your investment holdings to ensure that your portfolio of investments match your attitude towards saving. You might also check over to make sure the actual investment funds are performing ok in relation to their competition.
Savers can often find that if their investment portfolios have not been checked out for a long time, the amount of risk they could be taking on might not reflect the level risk, they would be happy to bear.
If you would like to check out more about the actual ISA investments, rules and limits, please see the Idividual Savings Accounts page of our website. Investors might also think about taking a look at our investment philosphy brochure and how to interpret their atitude to investment risk.
