Long time ago when I was a child, I recall that all the bedding in my house had to be white cotton ones. today you find so much variety in these bedding that it becomes hard to choose. Bedding was never so beautiful with the vibrant colorings, prints and textures that are offered in nowadays

Here are six steps that you can follow to buy the ideal bedsheet for yourself.

Measure the size of your bed

You might think that all twin beds or king size beds measure the same, but sadly it is not so. The top dimensions might be the same, but again the measurings differ with each maker. Due to this variant in the dimensions, it is safe to measure all the proportions and the depth of your mattress too. Your bed could be shorter or taller than another one from the same manufacturer. It is always better to be ready with your beds dimensions prior to shopping.

Choose your Depot

You will find a lot of top makes in bed linen available in a departmental storehouse near you. If you want something ethnic like embroidered bedding or luxurious ones there might be a store selling what you want close by. If you still cannot find what you want, try the online shops. For those who still love their cotton fiber sheets, a discount shop is where you should go.

Familiarise yourself with thread count in bed sheets

The amount of threads that are present in a square inch of the sheet in back and forth direction of its weave is known as thread count. This count is mentioned on the label of the bed sheet itself. For a lush feel, a high thread count is desirable. Even So do not go for a very high thread count as it entails the singular threads are thin and may not give the desired easy feeling. It is advisable that you go for a thread count in the range of 175 to 250 for a soft sheet under you.

Pick your bedsheet material

You need to choose such material for your which fits in your budget and is comfortable at the same time. Though cotton fiber is the most chosen material, some people go for the cotton blends as they do not wrinkle. A chilly night calls for a flannel bedsheet. For a lavish look, go for satin, silk or microfiber.

Evaluate the bed sheet

The size of the bed sheet you select has to be checked at this point. With the bed size ready with you, check if the bed sheet you plan to buy will fit your bed. Remember that all bedding shrink by 7% when they are first washed. Also, if these sheets are fine, buy some extra sets for your beds. these extra sets come in handy if you have kids at home.

Once all the above factors are taken care of, you are sure to buy a nice and affordable bedsheet soon!
