What Does it Take to be a Stock Trader?

Filed under: HYIP — admin @ 2:06 pm

It takes a total mental commitment to the task. It becomes a complete way of life. You cannot be a part timer. You cannot work at a regular job and trade stocks successfully.

When you decide to make your living this way you must be willing to work
365 days a year, 7 days each week, 24 hours every day with no time off. I
know.

How do I know? As an exchange member for 17 years and a floor trader
I can personally tell you there is no time off. Never. Almost every waking
moment is given to thinking about your current positions. Where should I
sell? Should I move my stop up a little more? There are 3 more trades I’d
like to make, but I need to save some extra cash in case I need it for a
margin call. It is hard to pass up a trade that looks as good as XYZ, but I
have to maintain my trading discipline. And so much more.

These are just a few of the thoughts that run through your head. You
are constantly being torn by the natural enemies of fear and greed, yet you
must hold your equilibrium to try to make dispassionate decisions. The first
law of trading is to protect your capital so that any single trade will not have
you going home broke.

If you are working a regular job or you own a business you cannot be
a trader. One or the other or both of these pursuits will suffer. When I
owned my brokerage company I did not make one single trade for 8 years
because I understood the commitment necessary to be a successful trader.

Why am I telling you all this? Because I don’t want you to lose your
money in the market as so many people do and I especially don’t want you to
think you can be a day trader. You can still make money in the market and
beat 90% of the Wall Street experts. Here’s how.

First you must learn that you CAN time the market even though your
broker and all those “experts” will tell you that you can’t. There are
several good timing advisory services that you may subscribe to or you can
develop you own method.

Second, don’t believe all that horsewash about research. That is
Wall Street smoke and mirrors. Don’t try to pick individual stocks. Stick to
no-load mutual funds with a discount broker and buy only the best performing
funds during the past 6 and 12 months. When they quit being in the top 1%
sell them and find new ones that are going up.

There isn’t enough space here to give you the details, but I want you to
realize that you can safely make plenty of money in the market without
devoting 365/7/24.

Just Friends (DVD) Review

Filed under: Great Movie Tips — admin @ 7:42 am

A somewhat hilarious and charming romantic comedy, Just Friends explores the innermost depths of the infamous “friend zone” of male/female relationships. Directed by Roger Kumble, the brains behind the widely lauded film Cruel Intentions (1999), the film has a novel premise, and although not the funniest comedy to hit the big screen in the past few years, it does have some really funny moments. Adam ‘Tex’ Davis makes his debut as a screenwriter after extensive work in cinematography and TV writing, and his efforts are above average, but Just Friends is not in the same league as similar themed contemporaries such as There’s Something About Mary (1998) and Meet The Parents (2000). Nevertheless, it’s a film well worth seeing…

Just Friends follows the life of Chris Brander (Ryan Reynolds), a formerly obese New Jersey high school student in love with classmate Jamie Palamino (Amy Smart). However, Chris long ago fell into the “friend zone,” and although, he spent much of his adolescence bonding and building memories with Jamie, she never saw him as anything more than a friend. At their 1995 graduation party, Chris vows to reveal his true feelings, but his well-intentioned attempt blows up in his face when a jerk classmate humiliates him in front of his peers. Enraged, Chris vows to leave town and “become somebody”.

Fast forward ten years to 2005, where Chris is a thin, romantically smooth and wealthy record executive living in Los Angeles. He lives in a multi-million dollar house, drives a flashy sports car, and dates a string of beautiful models. Against his wishes, Chris is forced to watch over one of the company’s hottest pop artists, the ditsy and annoying Samantha James (Anna Faris). En route to Paris, their jet becomes grounded in New Jersey, and Chris is left with no alternative but to return home. While there, he’s reminded of his lifelong crush on Jamie. With newfound confidence, Chris sets out to win over Jamie, but in so doing, he doesn’t act like the real Chris, and his actions have the opposite effect. Meanwhile, a rival suitor from high school, a guitar-playing nice guy named Dusty (Chris Klein), enters the picture. His courtship threatens to ruin Chris’s latest pursuit of Jamie, but in the end, the only impediment to Chris’s lifelong dream is himself…

Cut from a formulaic genre, the resolution of Just Friends is rather predictable. But moviegoers don’t watch these types of films for suspense; they only want to laugh. And anyone who enjoyed Ryan Reynolds in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder is going to enjoy his performance in this film as well. Although not as well-written as the aforementioned film, Reynolds helps prop up the script with a well-cast comic persona akin to Owen Wilson and a straight-face delivery that would make Leslie Nielsen jealous. In fact, Just Friends is a good pick for those hoping to just laugh out loud. Two particularly hilarious scenes come to mind, one in which Chris makes an unexpected return to the ice rink after busting his lip, and one in which he receives an unexpected hand-hold while watching The Notebook. The latter is especially hilarious, and Adam Davis deserves extra credit for creating this classic and original scene. In the end, Just Friends will never garner the status of all-time comedy cult classic, but for the present day, it more than fulfills its promise to create laughter…

How To Win The Affiliate Game

Filed under: Commerce Opps — admin @ 2:16 am

Are you frustrated with your affiliate programs?

I used to be. Very frustrated! One day, in sheerdesperation, I wrote to one of my affiliateprograms and suggested that the market was nowsaturated with their product - it was no longerpossible to sell it.

The next day I received a very nice reply. “TheInternet is HUGE”, they said. “We predict it willbe five years before the market is saturated withour product. And long before that, we will haveintroduced our next product.” They were right, ofcourse. The problem was not with the market (theInternet is huge). Nor was the problem with theirproduct. The problem was in the way I waspresenting it.

Since then, my affiliate sales have soared. Why?Because I learnt a few secrets to winning theaffiliate game. Here they are:

1. Choose affiliate programs that relate veryclosely to the theme of your website. Let me giveyou an example. Of the three affiliate products Isell from my web site, the one that does best bya long way is an eBook that shows people how togenerate free Ezine advertising. Why does it doso well? Because my website is a directory ofezines and most of my visitors are alreadyinterested in Ezine Advertising before they evenarrive at my website - I don’t have to persuadethem very much.

2. Buy the product yourself! Research acrossdozens of affiliate programs shows that at least70% of sales in any affiliate program are made bythe small percentage of affiliates who actuallybuy the product they’re selling. It makes sensedoesn’t it (how can you recommend somethingyou’ve never used)?

3. Banners - they don’t work anymore, and someexperts believe banners will actually damage youraffiliate sales.

4. Personal recommendation. The human factor isvery important on the Internet - people want toknow that someone else has bought the product andthat it worked for them. But to write aconvincing personal recommendation, you’ll haveto buy, read and use the product you’re selling.

5. ‘Over-selling’ - this is the most commonmistake of affiliates. Keep in mind that all youneed to do to succeed with affiliate programs isto get your potential customer to click throughto the affiliate website in an ‘open-to-buy’mindset. If the affiliate program is good, theaffiliate website will make the sale. So don’ttry to sell the product from your website - justaim to get a click on your affiliate link.

5. Standard Ads. When you join an affiliateprogram, you’ll probably be given some standardads to use. Don’t use them! Why? Because yourpotential customer has probably seen those exactsame ads on dozens of websites and in dozens ofEzines. And if that standard ad hasn’t led themto buy the product so far, it probably won’t now.Something new and original is required.

6. Back-end sales. Once you’re succeeding in oneaffiliate program, join another program thatoffers a related product and use the techniquethat marketers call ‘back-end’ sales. It’s a wellknown fact that people are much more likely tobuy from someone they have already bought from.So when someone makes a purchase from youraffiliate link, send them a nice follow-upletter. At the end of the letter, tell them aboutyour other affiliate product and how it can helpthem.

Rocky Atkinson’s Race Day (Texas)

Filed under: Gambling Fortunes — admin @ 11:59 pm

We hit again last week for you as we told you to take Carl Edwards in the Head to Head Matchups and he cashed and won the race outright!! Overall though if you joined us we actually had a losing week this past week in Nascar losing -.3 units. So pretty much a break even weekend for us at the Atlanta track. As I keep telling everyone about Handicapping Nascar is that one of the things we can’t control or cannot handicap is a driver getting into an unavoidable accident. That’s what happened again to us this past weekend and costs us another winning week in the Nextel cup action.

Tony Stewart remains the leader in the Points Chase 43 points ahead of 2nd place Jimmie Johnson. Greg Biffle is in third 75 points back while Carl Edwards moved up to fourth after his 1st place finish and is only 107 points back tied with Ryan Newman. Mark Martin comes in at 6th this week, 143 points behind Stewart, Kenseth is in 7th, 155 points back, Rusty Wallace in 8th, 257 points back, Kurt Busch comes in at 9th, 260 points out of first and rounding out the Top 10 is Jeremy Mayfield, 310 points back. The biggest mover this week was Matt Kenseth moving up two positions. Ryan Newman and Rusty Wallace both dropped two positions.

The Race for the Nextel Cup moves to Texas this weekend with three races remaining. Jimmie Johnson has the best average finish of the Top 10 here at Texas with an average finish of 6.5 including 4 Top 10 finishes in his 4 races here. Kurt Busch is 2nd best with an average finish of 9.8 at Texas. The worst average finishers among the Top 10 drivers in Texas is Ryan Newman at 24 and Greg Biffle with an average finish of 20. Drivers out of the Top 10 who have won this race include Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman. I think we’ll probably have to look for a new race winner this week or a driver out of the Top 10 in standings to win it. For now we are going to recommend a Head to Head Matchup play. Keep in mind we always wait until after qualifying and Happy Hour Practice to lock in our selections for the week’s race, so this is sort of like a future bet.

RECOMMENDED PLAY: Play On: Jimmie Johnson in a Head to Head matchup

Don’t miss out on all of Rocketman Sports Nascar Head to Head selections this weekend in Texas. Rocketman Sports has won every year in Nascar! Rocketman also has a TOP RATED 5* CFB play going for the weekend that you don’t want to miss out on! 4-0 this past Saturday in CFB with teams winning by a combined score of 128-27 and we are now 7-1 the past 2 weeks in CFB. We are well on our way to our 10th straight winning CFB season and our 5* CFB plays are perfect 100% this year! NBA has also started where we have won 8 of 9 years and NHL we have won 7 of 8 years! Get on board with Rocketman every day!!
